Dental treatments

Now I'm away from London.
I had to come back to my hometown because I had a dental problem.
This must be funny to my friends if I told them.
However the dentists in London told me that one of my precious teeth had to be taken away or needed to seen by a specialist.
There was no choice due to the astronomical dental costs and the killing pain.
I am still wondering why the general dentists in London are not able to deal with root canal treatments and why the treatments cost a lot.
Anyway the tickets were in my hand and I had a 12-hour journey.
Now I am sitting at the desk in my old room.
The tooth doesn't bother me anymore and I'm waiting for a shinny gold crown with reasonable price.
Does NHS know why people in England choose to go abroad to have dental treatments?
There are one more reason that I had to take this way.
That is the skill and the facilities.
The dental tools look like from 80s and it was hard to find 3D X-ray system which is a general equipment here.
Although I still appreciate that the medical chance in London is equally free to everyone, people need to have rights to get to see doctors easily with higher medical skills.
I hope there is no more case that we have to take out the teeth due to the poor medical system.

Happy birthday to you

I should've been in my country at this time because today is my dad's biggest birthday.
My absence,
I wish him happy and health.

clocks go back

When I was in my country, we used to have Summer time system. I thought this is the ridiculous idea as I had to change my bio-rythm and we never take the advantage of daylight.
Apperently we do not have this much of different daylights between summer and winter.
It is just something to show the public by governments.
However, in London, it is absolutely necessary. Nowadays it is getting dark from 4 or 5pm.
I would like to cut the middle of the long winter night, when I met my dear I would spend it.

On the other hand time is just promises among people, like ages.
We promise to set back a hour and get a hour extra sleep.

Anthropologie

This store is just gorgeous. I love this core inside. The axis, the wall and this plant-patchwork wall are very nice. Although it is often hard to maintain the green wall, it is quite environmentally friendly to water by rain naturally. Actually it makes sense in London. However the price of the clothes is totally nonsense but lovely.

cycling

There are something that I never did in my country such as Yoga, cooking Kim-chie, blind dates, part-time job, etc.
There is one more thing I can put on the list, which is cycling.
A month ago, I bought a vintage bike at Brick Lane market. As I thought I never ever ride a bike in my 30-year life, I wasn't sure I could keep cycling. So I just paid some quids for the experiment myself. Then I had to pay some extra for the accessories for the bike as well.
Who knows that I really enjoy it! Luckily, the weather in London is also just generious for me.
I have been losting 3kg since I started cycling.
How nice. This is the way to lose your weight enviromentally friendly.
I said good bye to my first but old bike and now I have a VERY gorgeous Brompton bike.
I wish I can lose another some kgs. I wish.

Bridget Jones

When the wind is colder, like now, and I rather close the windows, there is one who I remind of is Bridget Jones. I remember she grabbed her coat and her steam of her mouth in winter.
Am I becoming her? My career and my love.
I feel myself like a bottle with a hole. There is nothing that I can hold.

the first impression

I have been in London alomost 2 years so far. I think now I can say London from my point of view. So, I'm going to star this.

When I arrived at the Heathrow airport, my first impression of London, UK was smell, scent.
Although it was not my first time to step on abroad, I could smell somthing differnt from this land. A cab was waiting for me to lift and I could smell the same odour from him, it was not a perfume but it was artificial. Now I cannot feel anymore as I have got used to it. Anyway the other one was the weather. The windy rainy weather in London is notorious. However it was fresh sunny at that time inspite of my curiosity. The windows from the cab was just blue and green. Even I could not sleep during the 12-hour journey on the aeroplane and the plane landed already, I felt so high. I am still satisfied with the notorious weather. The average temperatures does not fluctuate but there is snow in winter as well. This weather makes gorgeous English gardens, parks for public, gloomy Brit pop and chocolate industries.

My investigation into the scent has being assumed as the smell of detergents.

excuse me

I've been away Blog for so long but if I have one excuse, that is about England, UK. My Canon compact camera has got a problem. This must be dealing with Canon company but I feel more like dealing with speed, AS, analogue and the way of life in the UK. The dealing is just getting an external bolt which was loosen and lost by itself. The cameara is still under coverage. I have been trying to contact Canon Centre to repair it but I failed to find anyone in London. How bizarre. There is no Canon Centre IN LONDON, one of the global cities. If I were in my country, I could drop into the one of service centres and get a bolt instantly. I also believe that it is problem with World make, Canon. It cannot offer service over the globe regardless of its reputation.

Anyway I might have a chance to mention about the digital life in London or rather the analogue life later.

I'm going to continue Blog no matter whether there are pictures or not.

another Le Corbusier

There's a great exhibition and it's free in charge.
How did Le Corbusier design this cabanon for 45mins? He is a master.

Architecture manifestos

It was the last event I took part in as I had to take tube to home.
I like his presentation as well as his clear voice and accent.
I've just put his name on Google and found out his website.
Oh, his works are unique and entertaining.
@ Le Corbusier , Barbican art gallery

a kitchen from the Unite d’Habitation

The kitchen is still modern although it was designed in mid 20th century.
It is funtional enough as he stated 'a machine for living'

Designer Azumi

This workshop was the part of the events for Le Corbusier at Barbican Art Gallery.
When the designer presented his works I could recognise his chairs.
I haven't done modeling for a while, you know, I was the first to finish it.
Hope the pair over the paper model get the Le Corbusier book as a prize after collecting the stickers.

Barbican

I was wondering what the Barbican is, even it was obviously an estate.
It was good to take part in the Barbican tour which was one part of the Le Corbusier Exhibition.
The presenter who is studying modern architectural history(?) explained the buildings comparing with Le Corbusier's 5 points of architecture.
The approaching to the Water Garden is impressive. It looks like getting into the water rather than just seeing it. If I mention the Water temple by Ando Tadao, is it exaggerated?

cooking

I'm getting better at cooking than learning E.
Anyway 'being better' is better.

Snog

The lighting makes mood but seating looks so narrow, haven't tried the yogurt thought.
I remember frozen yogurt stores were popular for a while in my city.
This has arrived in Soho.

Here is one of my favourite places, Borders. It's allowed to bring new books to SBUX in the store.
feel free to read whatever I want. Cheers Borders.

London is doing a very good conservation job.
The Monument to the Great Fire of London is one of the landmarks which is the tallest isolated stone column in the world.
It reopens to public on 16 Feb 2009.
It is possible to reach the top of it by climbing up the 311 step stairwell if you have podgy feet.
I'll try it next time as I have them.
